Compass Electrical Solutions is proud to play a foundational role in the transformation of downtown St. Charles with the demolition and electrical preparation of the former City Hall building, clearing the way for the future City Centre Complex (C3) development.


Partnering with Kolb Grading, LLC, our team handled all aspects of the electrical demolition, making existing systems safe and removing critical infrastructure, including medium voltage feeders, to prepare the site for construction.


Project Scope & Highlights

  • Full Electrical Demolition – Safely removed and made-safe all existing electrical systems within the former City Hall.

  • Medium Voltage Demolition – Disconnected and removed aging medium voltage feeders, panels, and outdated switchgear.

  • New Infrastructure Installation – Furnished and installed new medium voltage feeders, panels, and switchgear to support ongoing site operations.

  • Crossover Execution – Completed electrical crossover to maintain continuity during demolition and transition phases.

Project Overview Compass Electrical Solutions partnered with the White Bluff Apartments to address an urgent electrical issue triggered by insurance requirements. The complex’s aging electrical panels were deemed a fire hazard , prompting a full-scale replacement of panels and meter banks across the 39-unit property. Despite the scope and urgency, Compass delivered the entire project in under one week, with careful coordination to minimize disruption to tenants and maintain safety throughout. Project Scope & Highlights Furnished and installed a natural gas-powered Blue Star generator to supply full-building backup power Demolished 40 Unsafe 100-Amp Panels – Disconnected and safely removed all existing panels. Removed 39 Existing Meter Sockets – Properly decommissioned aging equipment. Installed New Meter Banks One (1) 26-gang meter bank with 600-amp main service disconnect One (1) 13-gang meter bank with 400-amp main service disconnect (with a 25-week lead time) Installed New Circuit Breakers – Matched to existing tenant circuit requirements. Reconnected Existing Circuits – Ensured continuity of service. Coordinated Power Cutover – Worked closely with the landlord and tenants to plan power shutoffs and minimize downtime.

Project Overview Compass Electrical Solutions proudly partnered with the City of Hazelwood to install a 150 kW Blue Star natural gas emergency generator at the Hazelwood Fire Department . This critical upgrade ensures the entire fire station remains operational during power outages, supporting emergency response efforts when they matter most. Project Scope & Highlights 150 kW Emergency Generator – Furnished and installed a natural gas-powered Blue Star generator to supply full-building backup power. 600-Amp Automatic Transfer Switch – Supplied and installed a new ATS, mounted in the same location as the existing switch for seamless integration. Minimal Disruption, Maximum Preparedness – All work was completed with minimal impact to firehouse operations, ensuring continuity of service throughout.
