Journeyman ElectricianList Item 1
Compass Electrical Solutions is looking for all-star Journeyman Electricians looking to make an impact on a fast growing company with a high energy team.
Briefing:
A Journeyman Electrician is a high integrity individual that installs, maintains and repairs electrical equipment. Common duties listed include blueprint leading and assisting in working with electrical systems, making repairs and troubleshooting issues; testing electric systems using variety of tools; documenting actions and testing results; repairing electrical issues by installing and replacing wiring, devices, and components; maintaining electrical equipment in good working conditions, and using ladders and scaffoldings to work on electrical systems, commercial properties and industrial facilities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license required
- 8,000 hrs. of field/work experience
- Journeyman’s Certificate

- General Knowledge of the NEC

Responsibilities:
- Work with tools and perform installs
- Assist with design and layout of projects
- Train Apprentices on efficiencies and proper installs
- Understand the project and its requirements
- Determine key variables for cost and pricing for project changes
- Use software for recording project information, data analysis, scheduling and forecasting
- Build relationships with customer, management & field employees
- Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them
- Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building

Apprentice ElectricianList Item 2
Compass Electrical Solutions is looking for all-star Apprentice Electricians looking to make an impact on a fast growing company with a high energy team.
Briefing:
An Apprentice Electrician is responsible for conducting electrical repairs and faults under the supervision and guidelines of a Journeyman Electrician. The duties of an Apprentice will vary while still under training; however, it will mostly revolve around joining the IEC apprenticeship and training program and assisting the Journeyman Electrician or carrying out given tasks. Furthermore, an Apprentice Electrician may be responsible for clearing out sites, carrying or loading materials, procuring required supplies, understanding, and interpreting various types of blueprints, handling wiring systems, and coordinating with multiple workers, other trades, and clients.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class E Driver’s License
- Mechanically Inclined

Electrical Estimator
Compass Electrical Solutions is looking for all-star Electrical Estimator looking to make an impact on a fast growing company with a high energy team.
Briefing:
An Electrical Estimator will be responsible for estimating commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical job opportunities. Additionally, an Electrical Estimator will be responsible for managing active electrical projects, often working with the client and Electrical Foreman to make sure the project is being run smoothly, on time and on budget. This position must be thorough and apt in managing relationships with both clients and members of the team. Lastly, it is expected that this position takes an active role in building and growing Compass into a successful electrical contracting company.
Responsibilities:
- Perform take-offs and estimates in company estimating software
- Create scope letters in company software
- Use software for recording project information, data analysis, scheduling and forecasting
- Assist with design and layout of projects
- Walk through potential job opportunities
- Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
- Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors. (Buy out projects)
- Procure materials
- Establish new and maintain client relationships
- Visit job sites to ensure current jobs are being run smoothly
- Manage multiple jobs at the same time
- Field questions from the electrician field team regarding specific project questions
- Assist in designing the project map from start to finish
- Gather & maintain paperwork for recorded data and billing purposes
- Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
- Actively mentor and train junior team

Required Skills/Abilities:
- 4+ years of proven experience as an Electrical Estimator
- Experience with RFIs, cost estimates, negotiating, material take-offs, and reading blue prints.
- Experience with Conest Estimating Software (not required, but preferred)
- Ability to work independently and at times without regular direction
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, electrical design/engineering concepts, NEC and overall knowledge of electrical material costs.

Administrative Director
Compass Electrical Solutions is looking for all-star Administrative Director looking to make an impact on a fast growing company with a high energy team.
Briefing:
The position of Administrative Director is a key position and crucially important to the operations of the Company, managing many day-to-day operational aspects of the business. As a rapidly growing business, this position reports directly to the CEO, with a dotted line to COO, and offers ample room for growth for the right candidate. Work is fast-paced and complex in nature. Considerable judgment, creativity, reliability, and initiative are required in resolving problems. Lastly, it is expected that this position takes an active role in building and growing Compass into a successful company.
Administrative Director Responsibilities:
The Administrative Services Director will be responsible for specific Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, and general administrative office tasks including, but not limited to:
Accounting: Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online and AIA Billing
Accounts Receivable
- Send daily invoices, including AIA invoices
- Follow up with clients when invoices are overdue
- Update QuickBooks when Compass is paid and check for accuracy
- Create lien waivers to be executed by CEO or COO
- Speak with clients regarding invoicing questions
Accounts Payable
- Input supplier invoices into QuickBooks daily, assigning job numbers for job costing
- Keep CEO attune to when invoices need to be paid – with the goal of increasing responsibility of paying vendors and credit cards
- Match credit card expenses in QuickBooks
- Collect receipts and upload receipts into QuickBooks
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoicing & payment questions
Bookkeeping
- Reconcile bank statements and cash on a weekly basis
- Make journal entries when needed
- Close books at the end of every month
- Prepare income statement and balance sheet for review on a weekly and monthly basis
- Prepare weekly cash flow projections
- Keep WIP (Work in Progress), Backlog Report & Estimate Report updated on a daily basis
- Audit expenses
- Assist in preparation of annual tax returns
Human Resources
- Run payroll on a bi-weekly basis, including prevailing wage
- Keep track of milage reimbursement
- Assist with onboarding new hires. ensure new hire paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
- Accurately maintain electronic and paper personnel files. Distribute HR forms and documents throughout the year in support of benefits enrollment, employee performance programs, and other employee-related programs
- Assist with creation of employee handbook policies and procedures and ongoing edits to maintain compliance & best practices
- Manage company PTO and employee benefits
- Create training videos
- Recruit potential employees including: recruiting through job boards and job ads, screening applicants through initial phone conversations, scheduling applicants to interview with the CEO & COO, and keeping track of resumes of individuals who have applied for job positions
Marketing
- Weekly social media posts
- Plan team and client events and will be responsible for the execution of event
- Send a monthly or quarterly newsletter to clients regarding updates to the company and projects that have been completed
Operations: Support the estimating, project management, service and construction teams by:
- Ordering materials
- Applying for permits
- Scheduling inspections with inspectors
- Tracking and projecting man hours
- Assisting in the scheduling and dispatching of electricians
- Communicating with Compass electricians & answering general questions
- Setting up new business opportunities in company software
Administrative
- Handle a variety of administrative responsibilities in support of the CEO & COO
- Create weekly team meeting reports
- Manage other administrative team members, including global virtual assistants
- Serve as office receptionist; greet customers/clients in a professional manner, lead company’s customer service, assist with the scheduling/logistics for external meetings, answer phones, emails and general inquiries, and handle incoming/outgoing mail services
- Manage office needs including the ordering and stocking of office supplies, schedule repairs to office equipment and/or building matters, coordinating with third party vendors or building management company
- Manage company fleet including facilitating vehicle purchases, vehicle maintenance and coordinating vehicle decals
- Maintain uniform inventory and order uniforms when needed
- Create & send monthly newsletter to internal team
Required Qualifications:
- Construction Experience (preferred)
- CPA (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in bookkeeping with QuickBooks required
- Bookkeeping Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Online navigation and various workflows including A/R, A/P, payroll, sales tax, financial reporting, 3rd party apps integration, and banking functions
- Strong business acumen
- Excellent attention to detail; error-free execution, reporting, and analysis. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and manage multiple client engagements.
