Project Overview Compass Electrical Solutions was honored to partner with the City of Hazelwood on a critical infrastructure upgrade at their Community Center . This project involved the installation of a 500 kW Blue Star commercial diesel generator , designed to provide full-building backup power and ensure uninterrupted operation during outages. Project Scope & Highlights Installed 500 kW Emergency Generator – Furnished and installed a 24-hour diesel-fueled Blue Star commercial generator capable of backing up the entire facility. Electrical Service Upgrade – Removed outdated 800-amp 3-phase 480V service and consolidated systems into a new 1200-amp 3-phase 480V service for increased capacity and reliability. Circuit Relocation – Transferred branch and equipment circuits from the 800-amp service to the new 1200-amp service to ensure all critical loads are backed up by the commercial generator. Switchgear Rework – Removed and relocated disconnect switches for seamless integration into the new system.

Reduced Fixture Count – Optimized lighting layout to improve coverage while using fewer fixtures.

The project involved TV installation, power and data infrastructure , and AV integration to support real-time scoring and enhanced user experience . Project Scope & Highlights Power Installation – Cut power into the wall above the squash courts to support mounted displays. TV Installation – Mounted and installed six new TVs, each fitted with protective covers to withstand the court environment. AV Cabling & Terminations – Installed HDMI and data cabling, enabling communication between the TVs and iPads used for scoring. Labeling & Testing – Clearly labeled each display (including those in the courts and lobby) and tested all connections to ensure functionality.
